The Origin Story!
The idea for an intermediate advanced surf school came after working as a beginners surf coach for a few years. I noticed that after a certain level, coaching tailored to the intermediate and advanced, became more expensive and less readily available.
I had been working with local groms and realised that once they got to a certain level, they seemed to lose interest and their passion for surfing because they were plateauing and I felt like I couldn't help them progress effectively.
I trained and qualified as a ISA level two surf coach (you can't go higher) and began working with the groms once again.
Their abilities and stoke of surfing shot through the roof. Slowly the group began growing in numbers and that's when I realised that there is a need for this type of coaching in the UK.
And so Groundswell was born!
